Rockstar Mom, Jennie Garth, on Childhood Oral Health Care
When it comes to her kids, Jennie Garth has got it right. With two new shows scheduled to hit the air and a recently released biography, this TV star and and mother of three never loses sight on what’s most important – her three daughters. Because of them, she has become an advocate for children’s health, focusing specifically on dental health care.
“They are not going to learn it anywhere else,” she told FoxNews.com. “So many kids are not taught about the importance of proper brushing, and they end up missing school, they have bad self-esteem, so many diseases, which are caused by bad oral health.”
From the beginning, she made dental care a top priority in her house, always scheduling annual visits for each of her children and even inventing a game to make brushing teeth more fun for her daughters.
Not only does Jennie Garth value teaching her own kids lifelong dental habits, but she’s made it a point to spread the importance of dental care to children everywhere, often traveling around the country demonstrating brushing techniques with her StarSmilez puppet.
This supermom is every dentist’s dream, and her kids are sure to benefit from her conscientiousness for the rest of their lives.
Unlike Jennie Garth, many parents in the US don’t realize the importance of dental health care habits and starting young. These same parents would be shocked to learn that childhood dental disease is the #1 chronic childhood illness in America and – more importantly – it’s almost completely preventable.
StarSmilez recognizes how critical early childhood dental care is and works to educate millions of children each year on dental habits. Fortunately, we’ve had the pleasure to partner with many organizations working towards the same mission – most recently PDI Surgery Center, the Kimberley Dental Team, Heart for Uganda, and the Special Olympics.

And don’t forget to check out her new ABC Family show, Mystery Girls, premiering on June 25th! Jennie’s character is a TV detective who is also a mom. Maybe we’ll get to catch some of her great parenting skills on the show!
