Heart for Uganda
Six years ago, Alissa Cooper Sande resigned as an elementary teacher to fulfill her childhood dream of rescuing children in Africa. Since then, she has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of children with her program Heart for Uganda.
Heart for Uganda partners with God’s Care Ministries in Kyenjojo, Uganda to rescue the orphaned and vulnerable children, provide educational and medical services to the community, encourage spiritual development through church and discipleship programs, offer employment opportunities, and inspire the children and adults of the community.
“The ministry is not about building buildings. It is about building hope: rebuilding lives, diminishing fears, and changing destinies. We have seen tears cease, joy unveil, hearts soften, behaviors reform, dreams unfold, and hopes arise. It is nothing we do that brings results, but everything that God does in peoples’ hearts and lives — including our own.” – Alissa Cooper Sande
